This case study illuminates the successful implementation of a cutting-edge solar installation consisting of 81 Canadian Solar 410W panels distributed across three arrays, K2 mounting, a Solis 30kW inverter, SolaSkirt and two Tesla Powerwalls, marking a significant step towards a greener future.

  1. High-Performance Components: We proposed Canadian Solar 410W panels for their high efficiency and longevity. The K2 mounting system offered flexibility in panel placement, while the Solis 30kW inverter and Tesla Powerwalls provided advanced energy management.
  2. Customized Design: Our team designed a bespoke layout, optimizing panel placement to maximize solar exposure. The panels were positioned to complement the architectural aesthetics of the complex.
  3. Solar Panel Protection: To mitigate pigeon infestation and protect the solar investment, our SolaSkirt premium pigeon-proofing system was integrated around the solar arrays, preventing access to nesting sites and potential damage.

Installation Process

  1. Site Assessment: An exhaustive site assessment was conducted to determine the most efficient panel orientation along with the best location for the inverters and Powerwall placement.
  2. Panel Installation: Eighty-one Canadian Solar panels were meticulously installed on the rooftop, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic harmony. Our SolaSkirt premium pigeon proofing system was also fitted to safeguard the panels and associated wiring.
  3. Inverter and Powerwall Setup: The Solis 30kW inverter and two Tesla Powerwalls were seamlessly integrated into the system, providing grid-independent power generation and storage as well as back up in the event of a grid outage.
  4. Commissioning: Rigorous testing and programming of the Tesla Powerwalls ensured reliable backup power during outages.


Energy Production: The 81-panel solar system generates an average of 33,210 kWh annually, significantly reducing the Centre’s reliance on conventional energy sources.
Cost Savings: Guildford Waterside Centre now saves an estimated £14,000 per year on electricity expenses, contributing to a rapid return on investment.
Sustainability Impact: The installation reduces carbon emissions by approximately 19 tons per year, solidifying the Centre’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
