Clear Control Over Your Energy With Solar battery Storage
Battery storage puts you in control of your energy use, enabling you to store electricity when it’s cheapest and use it when you need it most. This could be solar energy generated during the day or lower-cost electricity from the grid during off-peak periods.
Today’s battery systems can automatically respond to solar generation, energy demand, tariff windows and battery levels, for optimal performance with minimal intervention. This makes battery storage one of the most effective ways to reduce reliance on the grid and lower energy costs, particularly during winter when solar generation is lower.
Titan Eco has broad experience installing battery systems for domestic properties, new build developments and commercial sites. We understand the varying energy profiles across these sectors, enabling us to tailor each system to match real-world usage and deliver long-term value.

Minimise reliance on peak-rate electricity
Many energy suppliers offer cheaper off-peak electricity rates, but these are typically during periods of lower energy use. Battery storage allows energy to be stored during these off-peak periods and used when prices are higher, helping reduce electricity costs without changing how energy is used.

Store solar energy for later use
A battery storage system can be used to store excess energy generated by your solar panels during the day for use at night, or when daylight is limited. This maximises self-consumption, minimises reliance on the grid and reduces your carbon footprint.

EV charging at cheaper off-peak rates
Battery storage can support electric vehicle charging using stored energy, reducing the need to draw additional power from the grid during peak periods. This helps minimise the impact of EV charging on overall energy costs.

Optional back-up power during outages
Battery storage can provide back-up power during a power cut, helping maintain essential loads and reduce disruption. This is particularly valuable for homes, businesses and new-build developments where continuity of power is important. Even sites without solar panels can use battery storage to provide back-up power and improve resilience during outages. To find out more about the benefits of solar battery storage, contact us today.
How do solar batteries work?
Solar batteries sit between your energy supply (either solar or grid power) and the circuits and appliances that use electricity at your property. They store energy as DC (Direct Current) electricity, while your property runs on AC (Alternating Current). An inverter manages the conversion between the two when charging and discharging. BACK-UP POWER
Many battery systems include an option to provide back-up power in the event of a power cut. This ensures you keep essential circuits running, providing added reassurance and continuity.
Back-up capability depends on the battery and system design. Some systems can support whole-home back-up, while others are designed to power selected critical circuits only.
When you make the decision to install a solar battery with Titan Eco, our team will help find the right option for you. Whether you need full back-up power to protect your business, or simply want to ensure that your home has a dependable electricity supply during outages, we can help.

Smart energy management
Many of today’s battery systems use intelligent control software to manage energy automatically throughout the day. Rather than simply charging and discharging on a fixed schedule, these batteries can make real-time decisions about whether it’s better to store solar generation for later, power your home, top up with cheaper off-peak grid electricity, or export energy back to the grid for a profit.
How effective this optimisation is depends in part on your electricity tariff. Many tariffs offer significantly lower rates overnight, and a well-designed battery system will take advantage of these off-peak windows, automatically reducing your reliance on peak-rate electricity. Existing feed-in tariff?
No problem.
If you have an older solar PV system and still receive feed-in tariff (FIT) payments, we can install an AC-coupled battery while keeping your current solar system and tariff structure in place.
FIT customers are paid based on “deemed export”, typically calculated as 50% of the electricity the solar system generates – regardless of how much electricity is actually being exported. This means you can store surplus solar energy for later use, while still receiving FIT export payments under the deemed export calculation.

AC vs DC batteries – what’s the difference?
Battery storage systems can be installed in two main ways: AC-coupled or DC-coupled. The right option depends on whether you already have solar, how your system is configured, and what you want the battery to achieve.

AC-coupled battery systems
AC-coupled batteries are typically used when adding storage to an existing solar PV system. They connect into your home’s electricity supply alongside your current solar setup, allowing a battery to be added without replacing the existing inverter.

DC-coupled battery systems
DC-coupled batteries are typically installed as part of a new solar + battery system, where the battery is integrated directly with the hybrid inverter. This can be a streamlined and efficient approach when designing a system from scratch.
