As solar becomes more integral to the fabric of new-build homes, finding the right delivery partner is more important than ever. No two developments are exactly the same, so design experience is key to understanding how to approach a project – both in terms of function and aesthetics. And, importantly, because solar installations need to slot in seamlessly to an active construction programme, working with a team that understands this and can operate flexibly around shifting timescales can have a meaningful impact to the project’s delivery. We keep in close contact with site teams and contractors to ensure every system is installed accurately, on time, and in line with regulations – ensuring a coordinated, end-to-end service from design through to commissioning.

        Analysis

The Titan Eco team start by understanding your project requirements, from site specifications to SAP targets and energy performance goals. Our experts review the build plans in detail, considering roof orientation, shading, and structural factors to design the most effective solar solution.

        Proposal

You will then receive a detailed, transparent quote that covers everything, including solar system design, equipment specifications, installation timeline, and all certifications. We break down costs clearly and explain exactly what you’re getting, with no hidden fees or surprises. Our proposals include projected energy yields and SAP contributions, giving you all the information you need to make confident decisions about incorporating solar panels into your new build development.

        Installation

Once we know you’re happy with our plan, our MCS-certified installers will work efficiently within your build programme, coordinating with your site manager to minimise disruption. Every installation is completed to the highest standards, with rigorous quality checks at each stage to ensure perfect results.

          All your questions answered…

HOW MUCH DO SOLAR PANELS COST?

The cost of a solar panel installation depends on several factors – including the size of the system needed to power your property, the type of solar panels selected, and any additional features you choose – such as solar battery storage to store excess electricity for use at night or during peak times, and EV chargers to make the most of your solar energy when charging an electric vehicle. For a tailored quote, contact us today.

HOW MANY SOLAR PANELS DO YOU NEED?

Your installer will determine how many solar panels you need when designing your system. This depends on how much electricity you want to generate, the size and layout of your property, and whether you plan to include solar battery storage to capture surplus energy for later use.

          HOW DO SOLAR PANELS WORK?

Solar panels generate electricity by converting sunlight into direct current (DC), which is then passed through an inverter to create alternating current (AC) for use in your home or business. Most modern systems use solar PV (photovoltaic) panels, which contain layers of energy-conducting material that generate an electric field when exposed to sunlight – a process known as the photoelectric effect. This produces the current that powers your property or can be exported to the National Grid.

DO YOU NEED PLANNING PERMISSION FOR SOLAR PANELS?

Most domestic solar installations in the UK don’t require planning permission, as they fall under permitted development. However, permission may be needed if flat-roof panels project more than 600mm from highest point of the roof (excluding chimneys). For ground-mounted systems which exceed 9m² or 4 metres in height, planning permission may be required. Listed buildings and properties in conservation areas may also face additional restrictions, so it’s best to check with your local authority.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOUR ROOF ISN'T SUITABLE FOR SOLAR PANELS?

If your roof isn’t suitable for solar panels, we offer ground-mounted alternatives – including our integrated fencing solution, SolaFence, to generate clean energy without the need for roof space. Both standard ground-mounted arrays and SolaFence offer the same performance benefits as roof-mounted systems, without placing any additional load on your property.

ARE THERE GRANTS AVAILABLE FOR SOLAR PANELS?

There are many different grants available to fund your solar panels, whether you are a homeowner, property developer or business leader. These include the Energy Company Obligation, the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund and the Home Upgrade Fund. If you’re unsure about your eligibility for these schemes or want to learn more about how to apply, contact Titan Eco, and our team will be happy to discuss this further with you.
