Solar Grant for Farmers – closes 21st March 2024
Farming businesses are able to apply for a solar grant that will cover up to 25% of the costs of a solar panel installation. The grant covers installs on roof-mounted or floating arrays.
The application for the grant closes on the 21st March 2024.
The grant covers both solar panels and battery storage. The farm productivity grant is a minimum of £15,000 with a maximum of £100,000 per business, which means a solar and battery system of £60,000 to £400,000.
Installing solar and storage solutions empowers farmers with sustainable energy, reducing costs and enhancing resilience. Harnessing solar power through photovoltaic panels provides clean, cost-effective electricity, while energy storage systems maximise the consumption of the generated solar energy. This eco-friendly approach not only cuts carbon emissions but also brings economic benefits, with long-term savings and potential income from excess energy production. Government incentives further support this transition, fostering a greener, more economically viable future for agricultural practices.
